INTERNAL MEDICINE

Don't let the name fool you; internists treat the entire person, not just their internal organs.  Internists develop long lasting and beneficial relationships with their patients throughout their entire lives and are fully trained to treat patients ranging in their late teen years up to those in later stages of life.  Internists receive specialized training to not only recognize and treat common and currents diseases, but to identify initial factions that can lead to the onset of more serious illnesses.  They are also trained to diagnose and treat chronic illnesses, including those situations where multiple illnesses are present at the same time.
